Day 4

Ever feel like you are clamped down? Wanting to go somewhere, wanting to do things, but tied down by responsibilities, problems, and commitments you wish you never had? We always a choice.

Sometimes I wish two parallels would intersect. To different worlds would meet and become one.

Day 2 of 366
January 2, 2012
Rappler comes from the root words rap (to discuss) and ripple (to make waves).
It’s been a couple of days since we released our first plug on YouTube, and a couple of days before we formally launch - but we’re already living up to our name.
Today Rappler.com made waves after a story that was published on our website caused quite a steer. The University of Sto Tomas, which prides itself as the “cradle of higher education” in the country reacted to our story by criticizing online journalism and questioned whether online journalists should be given the same treatment as traditional journalists. As expected it emotions flared on social media. Plenty of people came online and had lots to say.
Suffice to say it was a busy day at the office. As early as 9am, when I came in, it was already buzzing with energy. And it buzzed and buzzed till day’s end. I believe it’s that energy that will fuel us towards the change that we all aspire for.

  5. SMILE
Day 1 of 366
January 1, 2012
After a whole year off I’m back - ready to embark upon another year of taking photos. Last time around in 2010, I finished my project but only managed to upload half of them on the Internet, the rest are still in hard drives somewhere. Too much backlog, in short, a failure. Boo!
The great thing about New Year however is the chance to start fresh. And that’s what I am doing today. I can’t wait to see what this year has to bring, and what stories I can tell through my pictures. I also can’t wait to see all my Flickr friends again and meet new ones. This year I’m going to be pushing out my photos on Twitter and Facebook also also for a more social experience. So here we go…
When you think about new year, you think fireworks, beginnings, goals & resolutions, and celebration. While all that spells New Year, I think it should be all about the journey - living our life to the fullest and being happy while we’re at it. And there’s no better way to start than with a smile.
Happy New Year everyone!

In answer to all of your messages, yes, I am still giving it away. But I have so many people to choose from, it’s becoming overwhelming.

So here’s the new stipulation: I’ll most likely pick someone who has reblogged this post, is following me on here, and on twitter. Just so that I can narrow the list down.
